As a Landscape Project Estimator, you’ll play a crucial role in developing accurate project cost estimates for large-scale landscape construction projects. Responsibilities include reviewing project requirements, performing detailed takeoffs, preparing estimates, and coordinating with the project management team. This position requires strong analytical skills, familiarity with landscape construction practices, and proficiency in estimation software to ensure precise and timely project bids, ultimately supporting the successful planning and execution of landscape projects across the region.
This position works closely with the sales team to estimate in-house and outside architects’ plans. This includes materials, labor, equipment, and other challenges associated with commercial and residential installations.
Responsibilities
- Retrieve electronic bidding documents for either Commercial/Residential plans
- Communicate and work with clients for each project to obtain all details for accurate estimating
- Become familiar with all aspects of the job plans and specifications to fully understand the scope of work
- Create accurate estimates based on detailed takeoffs created from landscape and irrigation designs and specifications of both residential and commercial clients
- Secure and analyze subcontractor and vendor quotes and incorporate those proposals into the estimate
- Write, shape, and communicate the project clarifications, inclusions and exclusions to include in the contract
- Submit bid documents and requested submittals of products
- Prepare initial job notes for new projects for Project Management (Estimate, proposal, scope, requirements, bid assumptions, schedules, vendor quotes, specifications, correspondence, promises made, etc.) to transition to production
- Maintain and update bid tracking sheet, lead tracking sheet and bid closing spreadsheet
- Other duties as may be assigned
Requirements
- 3+ years of estimating experience and/or landscape construction experience
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Exceptional computer skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, digital takeoff software, Adobe Pro
- Valid Colorado Driver’s License with a safe driving record
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating & maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply & divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, ratios, percentages, and decimals
- Ability to analyze problems and create solutions that add value to the client and the company
