This pivotal General Manager role focuses on driving operational efficiency and steering a green industry service provider toward its next phase of growth. Reporting directly to the owners, the primary objective is to oversee higher-level business operations, optimize profit margins, and establish clear performance goals.


Based centrally in Denver, Colorado, this 40-year-old landscaping and sprinkler services organization is undergoing an exciting transition under new ownership. The organization is seeking to expand its residential and commercial footprint, and landscape design services while fostering a positive, growth-oriented culture. This presents a stable yet dynamic opportunity to lead an established local business and help shape its operational future.


Responsibilities

  • Analyze profit and loss statements to manage profit margins effectively.
  • Establish performance goals and metric-driven standards for the organization.
  • Oversee higher-level business operations, while still managing  day-to-day operations.
  • Manage a workforce of six to seven full-time technicians and approximately 20 seasonal and part-time employees.
  • Partner directly with ownership to implement strategic changes, including growing the commercial side of the business.
  • Cultivate a positive company culture to align staff with the company's growth direction and alleviate internal friction.


Requirements

  • Strong business acumen with demonstrated analytical skills regarding profit and loss and gross margin management.
  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to partner with ownership and implement operational changes.
  • At least basic understanding of sprinkler systems and the green industry, including landscaping, lawn maintenance, and snow removal operations.
  • Experience managing service industry (preferably Green Industry) workforces.
  • Ability to commute centrally within the local Denver market.


Compensation & Benefits

  • $105,000 - $125,000; plus incentives tied to performance targeting 10-15% of base.
